I have the Core I7 7700HQ and although yours Is a desktop CPU, based on my experience, you'll be very happy with It.

I assume the SSD Is the boot drive? If so, excellent choice. You will notice a "significant" difference In boot times. Installation of applications, Is also quicker and obviously data-Intensive tasks. The VC Is very respectable.

Yes of course. I first used a plain old WD HDD as a bootup up until last year.
When I booted my first SSD (An ADATA SP550), I was mindblown.
Ever since then, I'd actually shutdown my computer knowing that in 10 seconds or less, my computer would be ready. Before, I would never shutdown my computer out of laziness. One time I remember checking task manager to see that my computer had been running for 26 days straight. Biggrin

Exactly the response I expected.

I do suggest however, to opt for 32GB of Ram. You need to look at expansion for future projects and as memory Is becoming more demanding with tasks etc, having that capacity will accommodate your needs for years to come.

I don't think I'd need 32 GB in the near future. I've monitored my RAM usage and on average, I use about 9 gigs. (30-40 chrome tabs + a buttload of background programs)
Only time i've maxed out was when I had 3 VMs running for fun.

I will rate 9/10 just because the GPU is EVGA.

Thanks!
I really like EVGA's customer service and their upgrade program: hence why I chose them

It does depend on one's overall usability, both now AND with future happenings.

If you believe 16GB will suffice for many years ahead, stick with It. Having said that, If you're looking at running simultaneous VMs, having enough Ram Is paramount.
Here's mine with 7 VMs running and (not shown), countless active browser tabs.

One word:
Damn
You have so much operating systems on the left bar.
Can I ask why?

Due to the nature of tasks performed on my VMs, they go down quickly (Infected etc), so by the time I locate, mount and configure the backup VHD, I continue my work on the other(s).

You'll notice that one VM Is my IDS- actively monitoring my network/traffic for potential Intrusions.
