R4 Cards #1
Which R4 cards have you guys used?

An R4 card is an inexpensive card that fits into your Nintendo DS' game slot. It allows you to play homebrew and backup games on your DS.
If you lose your games a lot, or you have a bunch of homebrew (or pirated) ROMs it can be a priceless object.

Personally, I've used the Supercard DSTWO card and it worked awesome on my DSi XL and 3DS.
I'm not sure if they've released an R4 card that works for 3DS games yet - but at least you can play NDS games!

That's awesome, but I don't even have a Nintendo DS.

I haven't looked into R4 Cards - I plan to though in the near future.

If anyone else is planning to, here's the top r4 cards. Worth taking a quick look at.

I personally hate the DS / 3DS. Both are underpowered, plasticky, overpriced pieces of hardware.
The games are good though, I'm just waiting for a proper DS emulator to appear on Android so I can play on my Tab 7.7. :]

As for R4-type cards, I have a TTDS for my DS Lite. Doesn't work for DSi / XL / 3DS, but gets the job done.

What were you expecting, a handheld Xbox?
I think plastic was a good move on their part as I am not interested in carrying a heavy metal brick around.

Actually... yeah. I bet the Tegra 3 or a quad-core Krait vastly outperforms 2005's Xbox 360.
As for the metal part, if it's made out of aluminum, then it wouldn't be heavy at all.

IMO, to make a spec-competitive 2012 gaming handheld, they should:
-Use a capacitive touch screen (c'mon, nintendo, this isn't 2003 anymore)
-At least triple the resolution (my calculator has the same res as my DS)
-Change CPU to at least a dual-core Exynos, ideally quad-core Krait
-Trash the annoying cartridge system (that's right, stop shrinking them; just make them disappear!)
-Make it thinner, and feel like a premium device. If you've used your cash on it, might as well make it look like you did.
-unlockable bootloader optional, but that would earn points with me :]

That would probably make it more expensive, but I'd gladly pay for one of those.

But that's why I want to play the games on the Tab 7.7. It just does everything right, even if it's one year old.

This brings back many memories Smile
I personally have used all of the acekards with a 16 gb microsd in it.
It worked great and also it was very mod friendly.
I would suggest it to you guys but I have not played DS in 1 year now Sad

Blehh, I prefer cartridges. Downloading games with my terrible internet is no fun.

I used to have a Nintendo DS, I never once bought a game for it. It was all on the R4 card. They're near impossible now to get in the UK, because they are illegal. I've since sold on my DS now. Don't use it anymore.
