Pwned Passwords #1
Greetings everyone,

Some of you may have come across this but those who haven't, It's basically a site that contains millions of passwords that have already been Identified as a result of being compromised. In simple terms, the site's database stores a collection of passwords that have been breached. As such, It allows you to Input a given password to check If It has been compromised, thus allowing you to make an Informed decision whether to personally use It.

Please do not enter your password(s). Whether It's a currently-used password or one that'll be used In future, do not use this service for this purpose.

The point to this thread, Is the fact that you can download all passwords from the site free of charge. For security purposes, all passwords are stored as a SHA1 hash.

Why isn't it legit? I've been subscribed to the website for about 2 years now I think. It notifies you when they have info on a breached website so you can change your password accordingly if that site hasn't announced it properly. I feel pretty confident to say this is real.

Furthermore, why would a moderator post something that isn't legit... @mothered knows his shit but he's quiet about it for the most part Wink
