No.

For one, if he is inclined to become an active shooter, he can still do lots of damage without legs.

Two, centre mass is a huge target that is hard to move rapidly, the legs( and arms ) are the exact opposite, increasing odds of stray bullets going places other than the target.

The news said people say he was a smart boy? A 13 year old should know what drop your weapon means.

It's hard to feel bad when he was warned and refused. Why the hell would you point it at people too.

Brought it upon himself, just like Yoteslayer (the youtuber which races a train and got hit by it) They deserve what they bring upon themselves.

I heard he pointed it at the police, so I'm not surprised they shot him.

Kid deserved it. One does not simply point a gun at a government worker and expect to get away with it wether the gun was real or fake. When I read the original post on the bbc website I starter laughing due to the retardedness of the father. Hope his parents get sued for calling a police deputy who was just doing his job a retard.

Also, this would never have happened if like any other first world country the US had better gun laws. Ex: Only allow guns for hunting purposes. Make it illegal for police to have guns on them unless it is absolutely needed. Do proper background checks on everyone that owns a gun. Not allow people to "protect their property" with guns. Etc.(can't exactly call the US a first world country but meh).

I still have a hard time understanding why people are against the right to protect property. Seems pretty common-sense to me. If guns were made illegal or heavily controlled, a blackmarket would be instantly created. In a place like the United States, where so many guns already exist, it's ridiculous to think criminals wouldn't be able to obtain them. Criminals would have them. However, the police and civilians wouldn't. I can safely say that I own multiple firearms, and it wouldn't be hard to explain their "disappearance" if they were made illegal. Little or no paperwork was done when I purchased them, so it would be quite plausible.

Its not really protecting your property when you have a AKM laying under your bed ready to shoot whomever is retarded enough to try to break into your house. That is what we have security systems and police for. And there will allways be a way to get illegal items, however introducing new gun laws would atleast minimize the amount of retards in the US that have access to guns and are ready to use them the second they see someone on their property or when some little nigger is trying to make drugs that for some reason have skittles in them.

You just said the police would be unarmed. What are they going to do, bludgeon the intruder to death with a baton? The intruder would probably be armed. Police take up to 30 minutes to arrive at my house (as I know from previous experience), which could very well be way too late. It would minimize the amount of law-abiding gun-owners, not criminals that plan to misuse them. Someone who already has the intent of murdering someone, probably doesn't care about an extra "unlawful possession of firearms" charge.
