Just seen this in the news,

Basically a kid was walking around with a fake AK-47 and when the police told him to drop it he refused and pointed it towards them, he was then shot and killed. Looking at images of the gun it looks quite real, whats your thoughts on this:

Well, if he showed up on my doorstep with the thing, I probably would have shot him too. I don't think he should have died because of something so stupid, but the cops aren't exactly looking to die either. Also, toy guns are required to have orange markings and his didn't.

Unfortunately you can't see the tip of the barrel, that's the only place they're required to have an orange marking, in my state anyway.

Gotta agree with you though, I'd shoot him myself, or maybe disarm if I was feeling generous.

A spokeswoman for the boy's school described him as "a very loved student, a very popular, very handsome young man, very smart and capable".

Not listening to officers when they tell you to put down a toy gun multiple times doesn't seem very smart to me.

The orange tip law is really iffy (at least here in California)
Some "toy" guns are even sold without an orange tip. The real issue is having/using it in public.

Anyways, the kid should of put the airsoft gun down. It's kind of stupid that he didn't.
