Sony has released firmware 4.40 for the PS3, with no official changelog we can only go off the few changes listed on the japanese software update page. It lists the changes as general stability tweaks and support for a specific NFC reader. If we gather anymore details about this update we'll be sure to update this posting.

That's about the only reason I miss Xbox.

That, and the fact I had about 10x the amount of friends (active friends, at least) on my XBL account than I do on my PSN account. :<

I was thinking of it! I may just wait until the 720 is released. A close friend of mine owns a 360 though, and has been telling me time and time again to buy another. I'm starting to consider it ><
