Live-Action Films #1
Some time ago, I got really excited about trying the Attack on Titan Live Action film... Only to find myself disappointed again.
These films often have a terrible reputation and rarely seem to be successful. I have yet to see Ghost in the Shell and have heard very mixed comments on it, despite it being a big budget US film. There are plenty of adaptations in the film industry from all kinds of sources (books, games, TV shows, previous film versions). Yet, anime-based films seem to have a tough time doing a good job.

Has anyone seen a live action that you genuinely enjoyed? If so, please share it's trailer (if you can).

Tom and Jerry are westernized cartoons. This forum section usually talks about anime in relation to japanese cartoons. Live-action doesn't mean action the genre, it means it's a version of the animated show, made with real people. See the example below. On the left is a picture of the original animated version of the show, made in the 90s. On the right is a new film adaptation where they cast real people, just last year. Live-action just refers to them using real actors and not animation.

I loved rurouni kenshin although I never watched the anime. Incredibly badass action scenes but it does have its share of cringe, but totally worth. Also love the ONE OK ROCK - The Beginning theme(?) song.

Saw the Rurouni Kenshin live-action on a plane once. It was surprisingly okay.

They normally suck so I totally agree. I won't even watch the Full Metal one because I know it'll be shit
