He probably won't even serve the half of that, sentencing is a little harsh I agree. Though to what degree? How many years should he get?

Might make sense if the service was intentionally marketed towards criminals?

He had no direct Involvement with the actions committed by others:

Quote:US court never charged Bondars with direct involvement in any hacking

one Scan4you customer used the service to test malware that was subsequently used to steal approximately 40 million credit and debit card numbers, and other personal information from a US retail store, causing $292 million in losses.

Another customer used Scan4you to assist the development of "Citadel"—a widely used malware strain that infected over 11 million computers worldwide, including in the United States and resulted in over $500 million in fraud-related losses.

Based on the above, he shouldn't have been charged and sentenced.

I understand and agree with your point, but In my view, the legal system needs a serious overhaul.

Ultimately, the malicious acts of others led to the apprehension, conviction and sentencing of a man who did not directly commit any offense. Google are Indexing and providing a gateway to access the site, so why aren't they part of the equation? There's too many Inconsistencies.

In part, yes.
Quote:court documents show he used malware to rob online users and trick them into buying antivirus services they did not need.
