Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Agreed, world would be better if the Confederates had won the Civil War and 'Murica was split into two smaller, shittier countries.

On a more serious note, there actually is a series of books about the Confederates winning the war.

I disagree. Lincoln was one of the greatest Presidents that this country has ever had.

Believable, in this day and age. My highschool wasn't that bad, but almost.

I have conflicting opinions of Lincoln. While he did try to unify the United States, he did try to take away states' rights.

Yes, the Southern US could totally sustain itself with its industrialized cities and diverse economy.
Waaaait a second.

How do you assert that Lincoln was a good president in the same post that you assert a right to protection from unreasonable search/seizure? He suspended various rights in all the border states, in the interests of protecting the capital.

How does the fourth amendment even remotely relate to Lincoln "suspending various rights in all the border states, in the interests of protecting the capital"?

That paint program that's opened up on desktop made me laugh way too much.

That said, I also agree with you that Lincoln was one of our better Presidents.

How does an amendment guaranteeing the right to be free of unreasonable search/seizure apply to a President that enacted policies of property stripping( the Emancipation Proclamation was before the 13th amendment ) and condoned and enforced arrests of dissenting politicians without charge?

I appreciate that you were spoonfed everything you know about Lincoln, but you could have at least TRIED to research it when I brought up a dissenting position.
