His name was Crow, then changed to Nuance.

Ohh Nuance was Crow.

Damn that sucks. Honestly. I would wait until he comes back online to see what's up. I'm sure that someone wouldn't throw away their entire reputation for 40 bucks.

Seems like he has as he owes Oni stuff from a while back.
Maybe he is just lazy.

Perhaps, I didn't think he'd pull out for $40 either lol.

If that is the case he should keep updates at least.

I'm not sure if this was an intentional scam... I suspect he's got something going on IRL and is burying his head in the sand about keeping people up to date.

I would recommend ALWAYS agree on a timescale when asking ANYONE for graphics or design work. Some professionals will take months to do small work, as they have 100s of pieces on the go. Some only work once a week outside full-time jobs etc. While I believe people should be more transparent with their customers for the sake of professionalism, I'd recommend agreeing on deadlines before paying anyone for work in future.

It's easier to hire a friend you know to do it, as they'll tend to reply faster. Sucks that it's not going well, but I hope Nuance does pull through in the end.

Although, we really are giving him a lot of room to breathe when he's being accused of scamming.

I'm not worried about the money I gave him, but I assume you are. I'll try to get ahold of him. I heard he's having IRL problems, but I don't know the full story.

I get you. I mostly mean that as advice for anyone you pay to do work. Otherwise people can find a million excuses not to give you what you've partially already paid for.

But if you don't respect your clients time, by not answering on one simple email, then you are not a professional. And there is no an excuse.

I'd say give him another week, two at most. What's happened is unfortunate and I'll message him on Skype. He has sort of dropped off the face of the earth, though.
