Need help. L>advice from anyone who's been to Jail #1
I was contacted by the feds today at work. Seemed like something my vpn turned off while calling Dell and Apple when I SE'ed 3 XPSs and 3 macbooks for my customers. My court order is tomorrow and I could be sentenced up to 5 years in jail. If anyone here has been to jail, can you give me tips on how to survive and all?
Really scared about this whole ordeal.

The first thing I'd do, Is get rid of every piece of Identifiable Information linked to your SEing- notes, accounts, HDDs, devices, messages (SMS or otherwise) and so forth.

Given the court appearance Is the following day, It seems quite serious.

Holy shit, I know of some guys that have been contacted by dell. If I were you and in my country I would get a lawyer who has had similar cases and ask the judge to postpone the court date since it's on a short notice.
And of course @mothered is talking the complete truth, destroy everything you can, has your house been searched?
A friend is nothing but a known enemy.

There's always an element of risk with refund exploitation and as the OP has experienced, when It gets out of hand to the point of greed, the legal Implications can be very unpleasant.

We will never know for certain whether he's truthful or otherwise.

It's not possible to judge and conclude by simply reading a post.

I find this hard to believe simply because the FBI can't issue a court order, at least to my knowledge.

Also, even IF a court order was issues (which is what im gathering based on the story. Meaning the feds gave it to him) it couldn't be for the next day. It has to be a 3 day to 1 week minimum.

It is possible I could be wrong but this is just from things I have witnessed and experienced first hand. Minus the feds part.

You're not going to do time for first offense fraud, especially if you can destroy or alter evidence before any LEO has a chance to look at anything that could hurt you.
If you don't trust that advice then you aren't going to get the answer you want from anyone who's ever been locked up.
If you do go in, don't be friends with anyone who's friendly to you. They're trying to get one over on you. Set up ASAP according to whatever factors you can; race, religion, creed, outside gang affiliation, or just go balls out and snap a lunch tray over someone's skull at chow time.
All I can offer ya.

You most certainly will. Try defrauding a company of 10 million dollars.

Enjoy arranging conjugal visits for the next decade.
