Find out what type of hard drive is in your system then go and get the drive test tool for that manufacture. For example, Seagate has a program free to use called Seatools that can run various tests on the drive. Additionally, most Linux distros have a drive utility you can run SMART analysis on and get SMART data. Boot up a LiveCD and run the checks on your hard drive.

It sounds to me like there is a good chance the physical drive itself is bad.

Thanks ! I'll go get a screwdriver today ! And if it is bad, I will most likely just get a new hard drive.

test it first just to verify, no reason to buy a new HDD if you don't need one, but if you brought it to me with those symptoms I'd prepare you for the cost of a replacement drive (I forgot to mention I do computer repair, lol)

Good news is if you're doing it yourself, you're really only out the cost of the drive and recovery media if you need to order it from the MFG.

Its Becoming More Of A Struggle -.- But I Have No Idea If The Hard Drive Is Bad. Like Phisically.

I Have A Couple Of HDD's That Need To Be Worked On (I Fix A Lot Of Computers At School. And I Would Love To Get Into Computer Repair. And Computer Science Hardware Biggrin)

I use derricks nuke and boot. It provides quite a few secure disk wipe algorithms. I've had issues with wiping a drive but it isn't "truely wiped" thus causing boot issues. Linux is great for testing though, I prefer Debian because it's fairly lightweight depending on the image you get.

The issue here is that if the drive is indeed having read errors, that's indicative of a physical problem with the reader head or other component. You can DBAN the drive all day and it won't fix the issue; in fact it'll likely exacerbate the problem.

I think the drive is dead man, it probably won't work. What brand is the hard drive?
