Hey guys, today I purchased a Maschine Mikro from a local music store. I took it home and began installing the Maschine software on my computer, including Service Center. When I go to activate the Maschine software, I type the serial number; a real one right out of the box; and it says that the serial is already in use. I'm thinking I might as well get another serial from somewhere on the internet. Anyone know where I can grab one? I also contacted the store, but they were closing. I'll update this thread if this ends up getting fixed by the store

However, before divulging the nefarious answer, I'll await feedback from the store that you purchased the item from. Which by Law is required to provide a new serial number with the new merchandise as compensation.

Would you care to explain Why it's going to be a pain in the ass to get a new serial? In my term of having done research, the first bit of research I did stated that you had to Register the Software and wait for the serial number to be Emailed to you, which could take up to 48 hours.
I'm assuming this is the pain in the arse you're speaking of.
If that allotment of time has passed, don't be surprised as their websites forum indicates they take needlessly too long in getting the serial number Emailed to a large number of clients.
On to the nefarious nature of which I mentioned yesterday; Usenet where I normally frequent usually has a large number of "everything", which is what I was alluding to yesterday. Specifically, an unused serial number since those numbers are extremely hard to come by & they're only good for one activation on the consumer level (that would mean you).
The gentleman I spoke with on the matter directly stated he had already sold the active serial number (gained via less than ethical means) to another individual several weeks ago around Christmas.
Unfortunately, I being one, among two others, of the individual's he had asked to inquire about someone looking for exactly what you are looking for has already been taken off the "market".
The good news however remains that you'll have to be more direct with Native Instruments as the very problem you're facing (and yes, that includes serial numbers reading as already in use) plagues 75% of the clients who buy their software for registration.

Lol probably shouldve updated this right when it happened but I wasnt home... but NI reset the serials for me. It ended up actually being pretty simple.

This is on top of having pursued three differing avenues of research on the matter as a safeguard should one or the other fail.
The only logical choice left would be to recontact Support with your faulty serial number to have them expedite it's activation.
Needless to say, the third option bore no fruit and I highly doubt if even anyone here could avail you better results unfortunately.
So essentially that's approximately 7 hours of deep research wasted.
Except you contacting Support again to expedite an activation.
And if you have anything below Version 1.8, then you've received a faulty CD that they shipped to a number of customers unknowingly. Hence the mess they're still cleaning up on that matter to this very day.
All of the above by those in the forum on Native Instruments website have stated after x amount of time, their issues, like yours, were resolved.

Edit: I just read your updated status on the issue mate.
And I don't care if you didn't update it sooner.
What matters is your issue was resolved.
That's all that matters to me.
