Really? It's so old though, and not even good?

Neat. Always nice to have a lower-spec backup machine.

I also have 4 other towers that people have given to me to "recycle". One's an XP, Two 2000 NT editions, and my newest addition a windows ME. I love being an IT professional.

I have a few old netbooks. I bought a Samsung N150 before I went to Defcon for only $100.

That isn't to bad (just looked it up Tongue), was it recommended you buy a cheap, old laptop for defcon?

Don't put something as bloated as Kali( or for that matter Ubuntu ) on it with those specs. Slap an OS on it with a small footprint( Gentoo is popular for that )

Debian or Arch is good. If you plan to actually use the laptop, just put Kali on a pendrive. That's all Kali is good for.

No, I found it when I was looking around. It was pretty cheap and in great condition.

I always have my Kali flashdrive with me, but the problem is this amazing new computer doesn't seem to boot from flash. With that said, I want whatever I install to be able to use almost everything in the Kali toolset. Debian may be what I go with because of this, but I'll look into Gentoo.
