Well I had my first joint last night. I took it all down, held it there and smoked properly, but I didn't feel anything. The girls around me seemed pretty baked. I wonder if it's to do with me having poor blood circulation. The one 'effect' I did have was whilst talking, one word turned to gibberish without me realising until after.

I've gotten newbies high quite a few times and most don't feel anything at first because they dont know what "high" feels like. Usually first-timers have a lot of adrenaline running through them because they are nervous or whatever and that can sometimes kill the buzz. I suggest you do it once and a while like I do. (Once every week if you feel comfortable.) Usually around the third time you know what "high" feels like.

Also, if you're feeling extra adventurous, try to get someone who is 18 to buy a bong for you. My stoner group of friends (4 people at the time) only had to chip in $15 each and we got a nice bong. Gets you pretty high alot faster than a joint or a blunt.

Then here's how you're going to get fucked. Most people in high school (where I assume you are, as am I) don't really get blazed as much as they think. It's a lot of placebo. Most people hold it in for a second or two and exhale. Each hit of whatever you're doing (aside from a bong, it's a little harder to do), hold it for a full 10 seconds, then slowly exhale. Keep doing this until it's physically impossible (don't kill yourself) or you start laughing/coughing before 10 seconds is up. Take a break and start up again when you're ready (take 10 minutes or so to drink a bit, your throat a might be dry and you might suffer from cottonmouth depending on what you're smoking). Also consider trying to find a better source for your pot. Most of the dealers in school know fuck-all about what they're selling. I have a friend with a medical hook-up, so I don't have problems.
