Manga Readers, Why? #1
I never understood the fascination of reading the manga of an anime. Manga that has no anime is completely understandable, but why would you flip through a bunch of colorless, emotionless, still drawings (that's how I see it through my eyes) when there's a professionally produced show. For people who read the manga for upcoming seasons of anime, do you do it for the story? Or do you genuinely enjoy reading a comic over watching the show? For example Demon Slayer, 80% of all it has going for it is its animation and music. Is the plot really enough to ruin the scenes by reading the manga? I imagine you cant enjoy a new season of an anime the same after you've seen how it plays out through the manga. I've heard people say its the same as books and TV shows. But I would completely disagree. Books ≠ Manga. And TV shows ≠ Anime. It may sound like I'm talking down on Manga readers, and I probably am I little bit, but I genuinely want to understand which aspects of manga you prefer over anime.

I`m enjoying the story more than the other aspects and in manga you most of the time "receive" the plot faster then watching the anima.

To be truthful, I only started reading manga when I ran out of episodes of a certain show and wanted more/to find out what happened next. I also held a very similar opinion to yourself. However, the more I read, the more it made sense.

It's' a different pace and way to take in storytelling. Also, some manga art can be more dramatic and detailed than the quicker drawings composing scenes in animated shows. Some of the real draw can be artwork. However, I think all this truly depends on WHICH manga.

Although, I've mostly moved onto webtoons, marvel comics and some indie comics. Some anime follows typical "patterns" and predictable rises and falls in tensions, whereas manga sometimes seems to have the freedom to be more creative (as there's different time constraints (compared to a 24 minute episode).

Best way to truly understand, is find a manga that exceeds the storyline of a show you like. See if you get hooked on it, especially if you know the show has no more planned seasons.

Shows of manga skip some arcs while most manga skip some form the LN

I can read 5-10 chapters in the time to watch an episode

And many animes are unfinished or ongoing relative to the manga, which means I might as well read the manga rather than watch the anime first and hope it catches up one day. But I also like to watch anime sometimes, it's more relaxing in a way

To be honest with you, I sometimes read it if anime is very nice and the story is not finished.

The story and the emotions you feel when the main character gets betrayed by this girlfriend or was once weak then becomes strong, main character gets reincarnated into his school live again and the bullies' try bullying him and get their asses kicked, and shows everyone how strong he actually his and when i get to see there faces ah yes the satisfactory i get
