Making a glitchy "gifed" up signature. #1
Time for a tutorial. This time we will be doing glitchy gifs. For signatures that is.

Programs:
  • Shit to edit other shit with. The shit you're going to be editing is preferably an image.
  • unFREEZ

unFREEZ download:
Mediafire
4Shared

unFREEZ Virus scan:
Virus total

Time to do this!

We'll need a background. You can make one yourself or find a badass one off the internet. Yeah, you heard me right. ]The internet.

I chose a background called "Gengar" for my image. This is what it looks like:

Now you can go into a lot of detail as to what signature or whatever-the-fuck you want to do with it, but I won't do that. This is a gif tutorial so I am assuming you know how to do basic shit.

Create a new layer, this layer must be transparent. Also one thing to note is that the glitchy text looks best on a black background with white colouring. Anywhore, you're going to want to put your text in a nice place. Make it looks pretty but legible so people can read it. Nobody likes chicken shit on their papers because you can't read it.

Save what you have so far as *.gif. We're not to the glitch yet.

Make two more copies of this layer, this will be the glitchy-effect. Move the text on one layer ever so slightly to the left and make it green. Do the same for the other layer but move it to the right and make it pink. You're set to go. If you want you can make the green and pink a little transparent for effect but whatever floats your boat.

Save this as *2.gif. Never put them as the same name, you won't get this right.

Now for the gif.

Copy a bunch of *.gif files and put them in the same folder. This will take about 20 copies or so. Make sure *.gif isn't the image with the effect on it.

Open unFREEZ and drag all of the twenty copies of *.gif into unFREEZ. Make sure your delay, on the right side, is set to 0. This gives a fast and better effect. Next, drag *2.gif in unFREEZ. Only one, you shouldn't have made copies of *2.gif if you did. Now click "Make animated GIF" and save it somewhere.

Next, find your image host or whatever you use. Make sure they support GIF files, you're fucked if they don't. I recommend Tinypic. ( http://tinypic.com/ ). Upload the image and grab your gif.

You're done. Congratulations. Look at my signature for an example. Be sure to watch it for a while to see the glitch.

Note: Make sure that you have the gif on a loop. This can be checked at the bottom of unFREEZ and is checked by default.

This tutorial is cool. I see that in your signature Tongue
I made my own, but it's a different effect (this is old work. like a year ago)

For people with Photoshop, adapted to the program.

Start with your text on background.

Duplicate the text twice, keep them in the same position.

Turn on animation if you haven't already.

Create 18 frames, 0.1 seconds apart.

Take your duplicated text layer, mess it up in a similar fashion, then duplicate that text twice, which should give you layers like similar:

Make your layer order like that.

After you have the layers set up, change the color of your two duplicated glitched text to #830071 (Purple Color) and #258200 (Green Color).

Optionally, add an "Inner Glow" color effect with the same colors to get it to look like my example.

For the first 17 frames of your animation, have only your TEXT layer visible. Click the 18th layer, make the other layers visible, and hide your TEXT layer.

Go to File - > Save For Web and Devices.

Upload to your preferred host, and you have yourself the same effect, but done with Photoshop.

Hope you don't mind Duubz. All credits to you lol.
