So you just want to create a forum for the sake of creating a forum? this is not a personal thing or anything but in my experience forums just for the sake of forums... rarely, and i mean rarely... succeed. Hell even forums with a clear goal and dedication rarely succeed. Making one just because you want a forum is not a great basis for a community, imo.

Reasons, already to many of them, and you can't compete with hc. ;p

(Well on the matter of to many, there's already to many forums for anything honestly)
Basically your only option for forums these days, is create some thing that's already around, but come up with your own unique ideals for the forum.
These ideals may range from, just a simple plugin, to changing the whole themes layout.
Or you can even make it specific to just one thing and one thing only.
(Although I personally wouldn't do that because, that's like asking for a premade dead forum.)
So the last suggestion I can add to this: Think of things you like, and figure out a way to implement them into a forum, and draw in people with your same interests.
