Or, for added security, users can just opt in on the usercp, and we can write up a script that geocodes based on site wide tracking.

The original script asked for their username, took their IPv4 address, queried an API for information about it, got the approximate location, and added it to the map. I was having alot of issues with there being no city so it just plotted the exact center of the country. In those cases, I went in and manually mapped it.

In all seriousness, I hope you are able to meet up with others. #BritfagMasterrace

Wow, rip, bad timing Tongue

Yeah, sorry about that. I'll probably be slaving away in class while you're chilling.

I am going on a holiday on the end of the year to the UK. I should have booked on July. I live in Melbourne Australia so it costs tons so the end of the year deal was pretty good.

Nice! Whereabouts you going?
Just doing my own root. London to Liverpool (Don't know) then to Norfolk for 2 days then catching up with some friends in Glasgow. It is not 100% confirmed yet tho.

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Haha, thanks for the recommendation, but I specifically avoided that functionality because it was too accurate. I didn't want to make it incredibly simple for everyone to find out another member's place of residence!

Seems good enough, added my own.

That's easy to defeat. With a geocode you usually have a format you can play with. If not, the API usually has limits you can set

Ouch...yeah, I heard AUS was expensive for everything except getting harassed by a kangaroo.
The exchange rate of Aus is pretty high right now. Living In Melbourne costs tons. But it is a very culture friendly city and i love living their. But Sydney costs more. Buying an average house their cost about 1.5 Million AUD. Btw I love the stereotype reference Smile

Sounds like an interesting trip actually. The closest I've done to this is just south of London to the middle of the Scottish Highlands.
