It is insane how many people there are in India and China. Incidents that only transpire yearly in other countries are daily or weekly events for them.

Why in the actual fuck are almost 3,000 people being killed by something that has a 1 in 6.6 million chance of happening.

With a population of 1.36 billion, it lines up.

The odds are not a true representation of every region.

The higher the population, the more chance of being struck.

The coincidence of striking 11 people taking selfies is wild and kind of seems unreal.

These incidents of lightening strikes happen mostly in rural India. One of the main occupation of people in rural India is farming. It is monsoon season in India now with many regions exceeding their average rainfall halfway through. Most of the deaths occur in the field where they are busy in cultivation and other activities related to farming. The vast open areas are prone to lightening strikes. As regards to persons killed while taking selfies, it is just tragic.
