We are going to click on create a new machine:

Then we are going to choose custom then click next

Choose workstation 8 since has the best supported features

We are going to install it later so choose that

Here we choose the OS we want to install I am going to be using XP just choose the one you are installing

Now choose the name you can leave these as default but it is better for recognition if we rename them

Choose the CPU power I am going to leave these as they are

Now the amount of RAM we are going to use

For the network we are going to use bridged

For IO just use what is recommended
Create a new virtual disk
Choose IDE as the disk type
Choose what ever size you want for your HDD
Leave the disk file name
Look over it and click finish

Now this will pop up choose CD/DVD

Choose ISO and browse to where it is located

Now power on to BIOS so we can change the boot order

Change it to CD/DVD
