If you’re into dark fantasy, fast combat and pixel art, Last Ditch Effort is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
You play as Igor Emmerich, the last Einherjar of a fallen order, as he hunts down his former master before he can reach a mysterious gate capable of granting any wish. The world is trapped in an endless war, and everything has that grim, hopeless atmosphere that makes the game stand out.
The combat looks fast and brutal, with fluid swordplay and handcrafted pixel animation. The story is also presented through comic panels and animated cutscenes, which gives it a really unique style.
The game is currently planned for 2027 on PC.
