Which laptop brand do you stand by the most? Don't turn this into a fan boy war keep it legit just share the brand you stand by and why.

I stand by Toshiba

The reason to that is because I have never had any problems with laptop and my last Toshiba lasted long as hell and took a lot of abuse, drops, spills, etc and kept on going the only thing that ever want out of it was a hard drive and I destroyed the keyboard from spilling something on it slapped new ones in and she worked like a charm.

I choose to continue to stand by Toshiba because it does what I need, it takes my abuse, it lasts and why change to a different brand when I don't have experience with those different brands.

I like ASUS, but from the sounds of things I might have to pick up a Dell XPS 13 for school.

I have an HP and I haven't had any hardware issues, only software problems etc. However, I am not a fan of Toshiba. I have had three friends who have had issues with the hardware and repairs were a nightmare. Toshiba (as far as I know) solders their parts right to the mother board. This means that repair will cost MORE because the repairers have to remove the solder, and then resolder the new part. Otherwise the brands are just like food brands, they "taste" or act slightly different, but besides that, they get done what they need to.

I took apart my old laptop and it was not soldered, I also took apart a newer Toshiba and it was not soldered.

And I know people who had bad experiences with HP. Nothing in the world is going to be perfect, everybody is going to have a bad experience and a good experience.

I have a Hewlett Packard (HP) laptop that costed over six hundred dollars, and in general, it's an arguably good laptop. The audio quality is extremely satisfying, the hardware is great for the price, and it's a little bit smaller than a lot of laptops (there is no number pad on its keyboard). It also looks really nice. It's great for just about anything. HP is the best brand that I have bought from before without any problems. I had an ASUS years ago, and the charging port broke and it took no beating whatsoever (it was a piece of junk).

This current Toshiba has a full keyboard with a finger print scanner. 2 speakers, 1 subwoofer built in 17" display Nvidia GeForce 8700m GT dual HDD Trubrite 720p, not bad for its age.

Asus is usually a decent brand but hey shit happens I guess, its Acer that I hear is constant problems but idk.

I'm not tied to specific brand. My girlfriend's Toshiba ran for about 5 years before finally having the mainboard poo. My mac lasted me several years but had a myriad of issues. My HP is still alive and kicking, is older than my mac, but has a failing hard drive. My Lenovo is just over a year old now and is frankly a pile of shit. I'm very disappointed with it.

At the end of the day the brand doesn't matter so mush as the quality of the product itself. I've seen plenty of Dell machines that are great, plenty that are shit. Same goes for Gateway/eMachines, Sony, Apple, etc, etc.

To date, I've always owned lappies and always will.

I've had HPs die on me (overheat), Asus losing keyboard functionality and PSU dying. Toshiba has served me well, but I'd have to say that "Acer" has never given me any Issues whatsoever. I have a network of 8 laptops, majority Acer, and not one has failed me. My oldest Acer dates back around 5 years and still going strong like the day It was purchased.

I don't stand by anything. I have an Asus laptop and I was hoping I could attach my fanboyism to them, but I've had more problems with it than I'd have liked. Not to mention it will randomly completely shut down here and there despite being taken care of. Fortunately, it hasn't done that while I'm doing something extremely important yet... knock on wood.
