Yep. Due to the law they're built on, houses can be built on shitty foundations and sink. Causing warping in the frame which puts pressure on the lock. Also with the extreme cold weather the wood will expand and shrink.

It's not the builders fault, it's the lands fault. I mean, our street is built on a wasteland. I think a few hundred years ago, where my house was would have been wasteland/swamp-like and that's another reason it sinks. You can tell how quickly the house is sicking when cracks develop.

A few days of cold and bad weather here also expands our door. I often just kick it or push it really hard with my shoulders.

I can honestly say that something like that has never been a problem for me, and I live in the UK.
