Jagex are bringing back RuneScape as it was in 2007

What?!
That's right, for those of you who didn't read the title, Jagex are bringing back RuneScape as it was during the 2007 epoch, if they happen to recieve enough votes in their upcoming poll.

Jagex are creating a poll to see how many players want to support this project. Now not everybody can vote, only members can vote. The poll will be available on the 15th of August.

Does this affect the main game?
There are some rumors out there that the main game will be affected by this, but those rumors are not true. The EoC (Evolution of Combat) update will not be removed from the main game.

My opinion as a RuneScape -01 veteran
I personally think this is great, it will attract a lot of old and new players and it will be a nostalgic experience, not only for me but for a lot of people who like to play RuneScape.

I left RS because of all the changes. Now the beta, that was the best. Although 2007 is a good compromise I suppose, maybe I'll start playing again. Thanks for the share.

Oh yeah I totally forgot that part, if they manage to get 750,000 or more votes, they'll implement a bot-banning system and maintain the game a lot.

However, botting will probably still be possible. I know it currently is possible in the main game. Just head over to http://powerbot.org/.
