I consider most, if not all antivirus software to be bloat. But I proudly rock Windows Defender, and its gotten the job done for years now. It's also built-in to Windows. And I've never been able to completely disable it. I've always discovered it running somewhere on my system. So you might as well use it if you're stuck with it.

Windows Defender has also been consistently making it into av-test's best antivirus list.

On the grounds you're running a compatible Windows edition (Professional, Enterprise and Education), WD can be permanently disabled via the Group Policy Editor.

ESET NOD32 can block various web pages, so for surfing ESET NOD32 is not good.
