Interesting facts about Criminology #1
Hello all,

I thought I might share some information I got from my uni recording about Criminal justice and, what laws are out there.
From reading about "The right to silence", a suspect may remain silent because of -
  • Knowing their rights.
  • Fear of consequences (Such as their words being used against them)
  • Mistrust the police
  • The devise to protect family or friends
  • Fear of reprisal from other possible offenders
  • The desire to hide legal embarrassing behaviour.

So, when someone is being investigated, the suspect will be under one of these 3 things. Usually the suspect will react once spoken on one of these topics due to the reaction that will be shown. That will give you leads/hints on what the case is about.

Something to share and more to come Smile

The right to silence means you should stfu because you don't know what you're talking about... unless you actually legitimately do. Tongue Always stfu and talk to attorney/lawyer/whatever. Respect the 4th and 10th commandments! Wink

Interesting reading.

Barring potential litigation, I believe we all have the right to not speak out. In fact, our actions should not be based on the demands of others.

That's good to know. I know a few people who go through a criminology program through my high school and eventually become police officers usually or similar.

That's good to hear. Well, certain areas, you can make good money.
Did you hear about the policing in AU? I was talking about it in the SL discord group.

That is quite useful to know as a general fact, but there is a lot more to that, like this area is so broad you would be surprised. What I'm trying to say is that some people might think anything they see on the internet is enough to be able to defend them in some cases, which is far from the truth. I made a smiliar mistake some time ago, but thanfully i came to the realization that I needed the help of lawyers when it was not too late yet. Sadly for a lot of people it's too late after they harm the situation too much with what they are telling the police. I think my life changed around when I found the ad of [redacted]visit our website from a law comapny which proved to be the best I could have asked for.

My 2 cents, obviously don't say anything. But a good Investigation will destroy you, and the fact you didn't say anything, can sometimes be worse.

True Example:. Fight breaks out, some gets seriously hurt or killed, you walk by and have blood dripping from an injury, you don't say a thing, but your blood dripped on the victim. You are no charged with that crime, and your lawyer speaks and says the truth, it dripped on victim. Guilty, cause the Prosecutor is going to say to the jury, any reasonable person would have said that right away, and now we can't prove your injury or your statement. Jury has to go by the facts. And, you may now be doing life or major time. Hard call.

I would say the best thing is, I would love to say something, but I don't feel well or right after what just happened and need some time. Get that time and consult with your attorney. That's probably the best advice. Especially if it can be serious, just being there can convict you of something.

Don't say to much though. Don't feel well and need some time, they don't give it, go to the hospital. Get your time.

Just saying.

There's so many tricks to this. Cops and even investigators are highly trained to pull info out of you. If there's more than one person involved, don't buy the other person ratted on you and then it makes you turn on them. Stay strong, hold to your story or nothing at all. Remember, you are being read, your actions, motions, what you do say and how you say it, everything. Don't assume you aren't being videoed and recorded , even if illegal.

Most peeps believe that they know all their rights, I know most places around the world, if your told to get out of the car or put your hands up or behind your back, you have to or you just committed a criminal offense, which can easily lead to more like resisting, battery, felony, higher crimes. Miranda in US does not apply until you are in custody. So a simple traffic stop, doesn't count, even a DUI investigation doesn't count. Dont blow in a DUI, remember, you will loose your license for longer automatically. Doesnt mean blow, you know if your drunk, then dont blow, you think you are under, its worth a chance. Remember, if you are asked for a lawful thing like your drivers license, or even to step out of the car, role down your windows, you cant say "NO" and my God this blows my mind......if you are told you are under arrest, you are, and comply. This is where you see alot of the bad things happen. Its an auto felony if you fight with the Police, almost every where around the world.

Im not teaching you how to become a successful murdered, molester, kidnaper, raper, etc-----fuck that go to jail. You wont beat DNA anyways.

You know what Im talking about and trying to help you with. You have a question ask me or PM me. Best thing is to plan, have a plan with the goods and bads, know what you are going to do ahead of time. Even in the simplest things, cause practice makes perfect. Cover every angle and even the unexpected. Don't be afraid to abort and try again if things aren't looking right or heading in a bad direction. Get your confidence and be smart.

Just my 2 cents and trying to help know your rights,

G
