Interested in joining the army? 03-21-2014, 11:05 PM

Well, I am pretty experienced with the military, and of most of the branches. I have overseas experience and time under my belt. If you have questions and concerns about joining, I was a recruiting for a short time so I can likely help you out on decisions and what not. I'll use my own personal experience and knowledge to help answer your questions.

Recruiters told me if I went to the military for what they wanted me to, I would be able to do it because I was being medicated at the time (early high school, 6 years or so ago) for bipolar, even though they wanted me to for decryption.

I'd just like to thank you for your service, I've wanted to enlist ever since I was a child and respect all that serve.
Currently, I still have two more years until I'm able to enlist.
Of curiosity, what branch were you enlisted in?

If you've active prescriptions for mental disorders( or have in the past few years ), valid or not, you will not be allowed in. Mental health is important when doing boot, as the whole idea is to break down a person and build them up as a warrior.
Some branches do allow you to specify a MOS, and if you qualify you get that job. If you don't qualify, you're shoved where you're needed.
Don't trust any of the recruiter's promises unless it's on the contract.
