Hi everyone,

I've been looking into the possibility of making some plugins for MyBB, and I quite like the idea. Several tester plugins I made on my server worked fine as intended on several different tested environments, however, due to them being my first works I don't want to release them to the public, as they in fact are actually rather useless, just things I made for fun to enable me to learn more about the system and hooks.

Anyhow, so, I'm looking for some ideas to create a unique and highly sought-after MyBB plugin. This can be anything that you think a lot of forum owners would love to have. No matter whether you think it's too hard, too much work, or just damn impossible, I want to hear your ideas!

If I do happen to go ahead and use one of the ideas posted in the thread, you can optionally have access to a test forum where I will work on developing the plugin and you can check in on progress and provide feedback and suggestions for alterations to the code.

Please let me know if you have any ideas!

What about add one for new points they are very nice?

Maybe a security based plugin? Which improves security automatically with know vuns? And it maybe checks plugins you have installed for vuns?

Known vulnerabilities are already patched by MyBB fairly quick (if they're serious) and plugin vulnerabilities are resolved by the plugin developer quickly, or they're removed from the MyBB Mods site. So maybe that wouldn't be the best to go for. NewPoints addon is possible. But what exactly...? Any ideas?

Hm, what about like a system were users can buy items then sell them on a new points tab?

Can you expand some? What type of items? Would they be displayed on postbit? Would they be sold to system or other users? Would item value change over time? How would it work in general?

So, there would be an item which is quite hard to get users can sell to others users.

And yes, they would show under credits amount on postbit.

That's an interesting idea, but how would the users get the items? It wouldn't make sense for them to buy them with credits and then sell them to other users again for credits?

Okay, so I like the idea you've gotten a bit, but with some small adjustments I think it could be amazing. What do you think of this?

Plugin integrated with NewPoints
Provides a store for users to buy postbit/profile badges and forum extras
Adds a small random chance for users to "find" items when posting a new post/thread.
Admin feature to set whether chance to gain item is on/off in each individual forum.
Marketplace for users to list postbit badges for sale.
Advanced admin settings for things like which exact items can be found, chance for each item to "drop" (increasing/decreasing certain items rarities), costs of items as well as restrictions on whether or not items bought from the store can be sold on the marketplace
Possibly a tax on marketplace sales to enable admins to take some credits out of the economy

What do you think? Improvements or more ideas?
