Agreed - I don't think the West has any claim for moral superiority anymore when it comes to human rights, not after essentially allowing Netanyahu to commit genocide in Gaza.

I don't know why so many people care about it specifically. It's a very long standing conflict similar to basically every minority-country conflict not unique to Israel/Middle East. What I don't like specifically though is what brought it attention.

October 9 attacks are definitely real and not good. The fact people coming into this conflict to support Palestine when this event specifically brought it into their attention is just social media behaviour. I'm not saying this event automatically validates Israel or Palestine, but if you're only going to get involved because it's trending in the news, just stay out.
Personally I don't know enough to make a stance on it, I support both Israelis and Palestinians shouting out their facts & opinions about the war so we in the international community can make up our personal thoughts. It should not be a topic brought up in everyday life excepts for the communities directly impacted by these conflicts.
