I don't "know" what It's like to be addicted, but I can "understand" how difficult It Is to kick the habit.

A couple of friends were highly addicted and finally came clean. They said It was the most difficult thing to do, and no other challenge In life came close to what they experienced. Well done to you for beating It and coming out on top.

It's such a great feat to accomplish. I wish that could meet people who have experienced this. I really think that teens (or anyone) considering drugs, would be less likely to try it if they'd met someone who'd gone through what blackrose went through. It's totally different having a teacher tell you what's good and bad, compared to someone's real life story.

Can't believe I'm going to say this from all the horrible experiences of my lovely divorce, but I'm not saying get married. Unless I missed it, how about getting a boyfriend, I believe you are female, or significant other. Not even saying it has to be sexual, the things you can do are endless. You don't even need to be in a serious or exclusive thing. Clubs, groups, hobby. Get a significant other.

Drugs is so hard to say, cause if it starts filling that boredom too much, it's going to lead into very negative things for you or the ones around you.

Lets say you try a drug and like it, and you have the willpower to stop after a short time. Ask anyone who has gone through withdrawals, oh man, has to be one of the worst things to experience in life.

But, since you asked, and I'm not recommending you do, I'm only answering because you may really want to know. Keep it simple and do some research. I read something about Acid above, and absolutely not a choice at all. Don't get carried away with this and do something that can destroy your life or those around you with one choice. Something like acid can ruin you, or even kill you first time.

There are natural things and legal things that are much safer and research what you are doing. We don't know if you may have an allergy or reaction. And some places there's legal things, like bath salts and synthetic stuff, like spice, can ruin your brain in one shot. I have seen it, first hand, and it is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. An 18 year old female, prom queen, smoked spice on prom night. She was going to graduate HS and had an academic scholarship and sports scholarship. Prom night, smoked spice and it altered her brain permanently, to the point she went into a coma and never finished high school. When she awoke from her coma, she had the IQ of a 5th grader and the only way I can describe it was that she was a "hippie" and would talk a pretty lights, love, and religion. I knew the family, and they were well off, this was their only child, who was never in trouble but now I dealt with her (I was a Deputy Sheriff) on almost a weekly basis. Very common for her to be walking down the street a 3 am with no clothes on, and you can imagine how much this younger woman was taken advantage of because she believed most male subjects to be God himself and would give herself freely to unknowing males, who could not be charged with a crime. Her parents had to get her tubes tide because she kept on getting pregnant. Her parents had a procedure done that could be reversed incase a miracle happened and she could recover and have children willing. To see her on prom weekend to how she was when she came out of her coma, destroyed her family and ruined her life. She is alive, yes, but permanently altered from wanting to go to prom and smoking spice that night cause it was legal at the time. She didn't even want to drink because she wasn't of age.

I am a military veteran and law enforcement veteran. I didn't cry much, if at all then, but I know when I saw how see was before and after, I had to drive to a secluded place and I had a moment of crying my eyes out.

I wrote this so you know, that, horrible shit like this does happen. It was so innocent too.

So consider what others have said here and don't dip into something like drugs cause of boredom or something like that. Join a gym, club, church, hobby, train for a competition, take a class, volunteer. If you can, stay clear of drugs and even alcohol. I know it's hard, but be wise.

And a big shout-out to you for posting, I hope you did to get some real incite from the responses. I hope you read them. You posted here. What a heart-breaking story... Though, unfortunately not the only one like it. I've seen friends get into University, and ultimately drop out or lose any sense of direction in their life, because they wanted to try drugs that one time. It changed their entire lives, in a big way. It likely started because they were a bit bored.

Thank you for reading, I can get long winded and caught up in some of these stories. Truly tragic, but one of many. I have tried to bury a lot of things like this in what I call (and my Doc) graves behind me as I move forward. I look back once in awhile though.

You may at a time or two, hear or see me wish for a "magic button" to fix things like this in life, but of course I don't. She was just to young and full of life, but of course in my line of career choice, I have seen worse. It's the real world though, I don't kid myself or haven't. Thank you for responding. I hope the OP finds a very happy safe route in life.

It's ok, it does not harm to hear a story that's different than your own. It provides a little more perspective and understanding.
It sounds like you and your Doc have a good way of looking at these events. I wish you the best.

Thank you, you have made my week! And is going to be a crazy one. Divorce Court Friday.

But, in all seriousness. I don't bullshit my stories and it helps me incredibly to tell them, cause if by chance it changes someone's life in even the slightest positive way, I have done my job, and what truly is in my heart and soul. People really matter to me, they truly do.

Again, the kind words and your time, raidiate happiness and positiveness in me. Thank you.

And all honor and respect Jiggly P!

Thank you.

That's really nice to hear! (Not about court of course - Best of luck with that!)

See you around Smile

And those words truly hit home, and help me know and stay true to my heart, that, this to, shall pass. And help me know and feel, that staying my course, and hearing the most awesome inspiring words and feelings right here, from some of the greatest, honorable, individuals I have ever met, right here on this site, have kept me so on par and true with who I am and want to be, and stay. How easy it would have been to cause a lot of evil and chaos, which does not radiate from me, as much as I can help, being a sinner and not perfect.

I live less than a minute away from my soon to be ex, whom I was married to for over 20 years, and my 3 greatest gifts from above, my children. This being the worst war I ever fought in cause my children are used as pawns and my pensions to secure my future are gone, throw in Covid. Yet, I can honestly say, I was never abandoned by Sinisterly, and was constantly shown, this will pass, remain positive, stay true to who I am, and there are phenomenal men and women here, who will be here, now, and in my future to help me back on my feet. I will never be able to thank you for helping me. My goal is to finish my divorce as fairly as possible and to be on here daily learning and helping if I can, because I have found a place and an excitment I haven't felt in decades.

No matter where you stand on here. I honor and thank you. I look forward to learning something I gave up decades ago, so bare with my long stories and goofy questions. Help me learn, and hey, I may have been in Law Enforcement, but I have been SEing and a few other things forever. There is no judging from me. I'm blessed to be here with such incredibly skilled, intelligent individuals. Eternally Grateful!

Respectfully Submitted,

G
