I cannot get into Anime these days #1
I'm 28, I was growing up when Toonami was still on Cartoon Network and aired Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z, which is what got me hooked at an incredibly early age. I'm absolutely in love with classic anime from the 70s to the 90s and even the mid 2000s.
I just cannot get into anything past 2009 unless it's very adult and very unique.

I've given them an honest sit-down try,
Attack on Titan
Bleach
Sword Art Online
My Hero Acadamia
I can't get into them. I don't like the expressions, the art styles, the stories, the characters, they all feel so cookie cutout and generic these days and it's borderline impossible to find an Anime I enjoy anymore so I revert to watching the ones I know and love for the several thousandth time.

Does anyone else have this issue? If not, what do you enjoy about newer anime that's gotten you hooked?

I loved Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon back In the 90s.

My other favorites were Kim Possible, Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo.

The golden age of Cartoon Network, television was fantastic in the 90s.
I actually bonded over Johnny Bravo with my mum when I was a kid because she thought he was funny as hell, and voluntarily "did the monkey" at the beginning of every episode.

I'd say most if not all of my favorites existed in some form or fashion prior to 2009. Some of the newer anime is alright, but nothing matches the classics.

Cartoon Network was certainly awesome In the 90s.

Your mum was right about Johnny Bravo, he was absolutely hilarious. It's a shame It came to an end In 2004.

Yeah they had a few specials he appeared in afterwards in other shows, but I'm completely hoping they don't ever bring it back because cartoons and revamps nowadays (aside from the Ren & Stimpy comeback) are generally shit storms of terrible pandering to the wrong crowds.

I'll always hold a place in my heart for the Scooby Doo x Johnny Bravo episode

Most definitely, I think personally the 90s were the best time for Anime, but I can't knock the aesthetically pleasing and imaginative story lines of the 70s and even some of the 2000s anime as well. What I liked about the 00's was their branch in music with dedicated bands doing the soundtracks that complimented the show with rock, hip hop and jazz, instead of the generic poppy Japanese introductions that are completely indistinguishable from every other anime out there.

Yes, I remember that very well.

Johnny Bravo's car broke down and they happened to drive by to give him a lift. I won't go Into detail, but It was quite hilarious.

if you don't like the art style, stop watching anime in general. Art style changes all the time.

and then the newer versions

Not to be mean- watch non stream; since older anime is not watched by everyone anymore.

With the exception of myself.

I still prefer the old over the new.
