I was 2 years old when I got my cat and 8 years old when I got my dog. The cat lasted 14 years, the dog lasted 12. Never got any other pets thus far. Hard to replace them, I think personally.

I got my first fish when i was 7 or so.. died when i was 12, me and Mr.Fish had a good run.

Got a dog when i was 13, still here now

Had a hamster when i was borned and ever since when a pet died we got a new 1 buy when I moved out I bought 1 after a year!

Got a couple cats here and there throughout my childhood but I got my first dog at the age of 11 and I still have him.

When I was about 3 months old, my parents bought me a Golden Labrador Retriever. She died about 9 years later, unsure of the cause of death.

I just got my dog this year, so 13 years old when I got mine.

My parents had a dog when I was born but it died when I was around 6-7. Then we got a rabbit and it too died, now we have a dog which is mine .
