to think all this was caused by some devs not thinking things through.

Surprised they let such a simple fault slip through the cracks. Guess the mistake had to be made to fix it, in this case.

One would think that Apple would have that 'very' basic security step. For a company that thinks of them so highly in the security field.

However, the methods the attacker used to obtain the celebrities' (or celebrities' partners/friends') iCloud emails... still seem to be unknown.
This Fappening deal seems like it's nowhere near over. More content was released either yesterday or today.

Before the release of all of the nudes, there used to be a few people search directories that provided you with all of their emails. Now they've removed them.

A good number of the celebs leaked I'd never heard of, had to be a grand-scale operation rather than this "hacker named four chan" the news websites were blowing up about. Either that or a 30-year-old neckbeard in his basement fingering his ass, scrolling celebrity names on Wikipedia, searching their emails, and bruting the passwords all at the same time.

Actually, there were tor based celeb nude trading rings, that to get into you needed nudes or money. Some 13 year old kid bought in, and decided that instead of being smart and keeping them for himself and letting the collection grew, he leeked them.
