I'm sure we've all seen those random accounts that request to be friends with you and then message you. I never accept requests from people I don't know so I'm not sure what happens next. But those scams where they end up taking over your account, how do they work? Do they end up sending a link to a phishing login page or something like that to steal your credentials? Or is there a different technique that is harder to see is not legit? Or can they do it without you clicking a link at all? (this wouldnt make sense to me, but apparently it is possible, i can't wrap my head around how that would work)...
Just wondering how so many people I know fall for this, sometimes multiple times. It's not always older people either, I've seen it happen to teenagers and college kids, especially recently.
