Here is an idea for AMD.. #1
I've preached, oh how I preached, AMD has its place but.. It doesn't belong in the central processing market.

Intel has been sued many of times for "controlling the market" or if you'd rather, just makes better shit. Source

AMD hasn't had an orignal architecture design since Intel failed to renew its patent for its Pentium series architecture back in like 2007ish? If someone can find that source, that'd be great. I know AMD took the patent and then released their CPUs within that same year or the next following year which was based off of the Pentium series. (Okay, maybe they have had a orignal architecture design but nonetheless, the processors they built based on the Pentium where by far their best processors still. I'll find the source if I can after classes today)

AMD has been loosing money in its CPU market for years now. Source. Did I mention year(s)? Yes. They've been beaten consistently by Intel now for years in this field and I don't think thats going to change anytime soon.

The only things AMD has been doing right for the past few years now is GPUs, and APUs. Their APUs have destroyed Intel's integrated graphics but have still been destroyed in pure processing capabilities by Intel.

Dear AMD,
Stick to your APUs, and GPUs, let your CPUs die out just like my soul did when I saw the 390 was just a re-brand of the 290. You make me sick.

I have an AMD A8. And it is pretty good.

I'm almost positive that the A8 is an APU.

I'm unimpressed in AMD's lineup of flagship graphics cards. Their Fury X only has 4 gigabytes of HBM (I would have loved to see 6+) compared to the similarly priced 980ti. But hey, I might be speaking too early. They might come out with a 6 gigabyte model soon.

I have an A6 in my laptop. Why? Because nothing isn't replaceable on the motherboard. RAM is being soldered onto boards now. Hard drives are becoming SSD's which are also soldered on. Even the processors are too. This laptop is different which is why I want it. Also the A10 processor is a Quad core @ 3.8? Decent, really. I can upgrade to the A8 or A10 anytime. Again, their APUs are fantastic but get the fuck outta the CPU market.

AMD is good at pumping cores into their CPUs, but the per core performance will always be better on Intel, in every generation. 9/10 having better per core performance > more cores, but some people think they need a dozen cores. Though AMD does make a good CPU for tight budgets

There is nothing wrong with having an AMD in a cheap rig but I laugh every time when someone says they built a gaming PC and it has a quad-core AMD in it. Their graphics cards don't suck too bad. At least most of them are on par with Nvida's.

I'd happily toss an AMD card into my build if it meant better performance than an Nvidia card of around the same price, but I will always stick with my Intel CPUs, not even out of bad experience just a distaste for the AMD ones.

Right. I have yet to really have a bad experience with them but their financial records don't lie.
They're loosing money off of their processors and it slightly backs my point up that their CPUs are junk and thats why Intel is running the market for CPUs. I wouldn't buy any of the new AMD cards right now since the Fury is using that new VRAM (HBM?) architecture and its still very new. A 290X wouldn't be bad though. Price is great too.

Most people overlook one thing however, the price you pay for a 290X maybe less than a 780TI; but the cost of your energy bill will a little bit more if you settle for that 290X. Most people don't care but for those who may have to pay their own electricity bill, it matters to them.

Loving my 780 Ti atm. It was definitely a hard choice between the two cards when they first came out, but the 780 Ti won me over. Temperatures on the 290x scare me. Also running Mad Max @ 4k Ultra settings is nice Evil
