I have two related books on my computer:
- A beginner's guide to hacking computer systems
- Grey Hat Hacking: The Ethical Hacker's Handbook
Tell me if you want me to upload them.
Upload them.
Hidden Lesson: Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.

as you request:
Books.zip (7.25 MB)
Virus scan.
I assure you it's uninfected. I believe it failed one scan out of 48.
EDIT:: seems to be failure of the anti-virus software:
see below.
Enjoy

Why is it failing a relatively nasty virus?

I found this on some other website:
Spoiler:
OK, I was able to find this one by downloading a copy of Gray Hat Hacking. In chapter 23, page 501 there is a sentence that starts with "More concretely, imagine what would happen given the vulnerable mhtml: proto-col handler loading this URL: mhtml:file://...". The bolded characters are the first part of the signature that ClamXav is looking for. Given that this publication contains information about exploits, it's not surprising that it tests positive for such a thing.
So you can safely ignore that one as long as you aren't trying to write malware yourself. ;-)

I'll scan the other book to be sure

But thanks a lot for that. found the same kind of stuff in my own searches yesterday, but nothing that specific.
EDIT::
here is the
virus scan of the other book.
Only one anti-virus fails Grey Hat Hacking.
