Hosting a website can take a lot of processing power especially when you have a lot of php and shared hosting just can't handle it. Also with a VPS you usually get about 100Mb/s up-link. (Mb = Megabits MB= MegaBytes, 10Mb = 1MB.)

Buy a big ass DEDIS with unmetered bandwidth.

Setup a Ngix or Apache web server on it.

Pretty simple.
