Googles next generation of executives... #1
Right now Google is run by some pretty decent people, from what I both see and hear anyway, they do plenty of good in the world and have changed it in so many ways. They are always trying to improve the world as we know it, and always are. Sure they're in it for the money to some extent, but look at how much free stuff Google gives away.

Anyway my point is the people who run Google right now are no where near as bad as they could possibly be, so let's be grateful for that.

Wikipedia Wrote:Google's declared code of conduct is "Don't be evil", a phrase which they went so far as to include in their prospectus (aka "S-1") for their 2004 IPO, noting that "We believe strongly that in the long term, we will be better served—as shareholders and in all other ways—by a company that does good things for the world even if we forgo some short term gains."[23]

What about the next generation of people who take over, they're more than likely buying into Google looking to turn a profit, with money as the main incentive, profit is the motivator. What then, what if they're corrupt and abuse all that power?
I'm out. Y'all needa sense of humor. Peace.

Hmm yes, I see where you're coming from. Google have already started making changes to their terms of use that not everyone is a fan of. Hopefully the next generation will understand these concerns and work with the ethics that keep Google high in the eyes of people.

They're a private company, who cares if the exec focuses more on Google's worth, especially since Google fails to understand that they are a software company and should fuck out of the hardware market( Google automated car, Google FIOS, etc )

Why can't they be both? Some of their products are actually quite good.

Name a hardware piece Google has put out that is actually innovative. Self-driving car? DARPA has been doing that for ages. FIOS? Certainly not a new invention.

That's still an extremely weak argument as to why Google can't expand into hardware. Following your logic there should only be one phone manufacturer, only one car producer, only one of everything that produces any sort of technological service or otherwise.

Monopolies are detrimental to the growth of an industry. Never a good idea imo.

Well yeah, that's the point I'm trying to make.
Saying Google cannot expand into the hardware market because other companies already similar hardware is..... A bit backwards.
And in our lovely capitalist lands, we need competition anyways.

I say things you like and you feed my ego.
