Google Chrome bypassing Adblock, forces users to watch full-length video ads #1
Quote:It seems, with news of Google neutralising AdBlock Plus. The popular extension, originally created by Wladimir Palant in 2006, is used by many to bypass ads hosted on the internet, including the video ads served by Google's video streaming site.
The company has not stopped at just skirting the extension, however. Users with AdBlock enabled will now have to see full-length video ads with no option to skip them half-way through, a feature YouTube has offered for a very long time. The only way to get the option back is to disable AdBlock, or to whitelist YouTube.

Going to chrome://apps/ and uninstalling the Youtube app gets rid of this, does not affect anything else on youtube.

Not to mention, for any obfuscation the mighty Google and newly affiliated companies come up with, there is but a mere method to obfuscate even that obfuscation.

Example: @"Soap"'s mention of Ublock's Origin.

Just as functional... Until Mozilla kills off the way extensions are currently developed for FireFox.

Well, firefox is doing some really shady shit as well at the moment. I don't doubt you've noticed the insane amount of forced advertisement on the new page tab despite it being filled with pinned sites already. They also started disabling safebrowsing by default now, and made it opt-in through the really shitty and un-userfriendly screen called about:config.
