I have 6 tabs open.
Right, but you get to watch full-length video ads with Chrome.

Much agree.
The amount of memory consumed with only one tab, obviously depends on the nature of the website. I've also reached and exceeded 300MB quite easily.
On my lappy running 16GB of Ram, I currently have around 30 tabs open, some data-Intensive tasks being performed and only one VM running. There's no I/O read & write Issues nor anything to suggest any sort of memory leak.
Currently, over 7GB of Ram Is being consumed:
Spoiler:
Even If I had 8GB of Ram, It would not suffice.

The reason people started using adblock was since ads were everywhere, annoying and too long.
I don't know what did they expect.
There's always gonna be some way around it.

And It's just getting worse with ads as the days progress.
The good thing about an extension, Is that you can enable/disable It according to your browsing habits. If I'm only viewing sites with minimal to no ads, I disable It and vice-versa with ad-filled sites.

I noticed this thread was fucking hard to read as a blind person so I made it easier by making an audio version of the entire thread.
