Good News and Bad News 11-03-2012, 07:41 PM

So, before I get to the good news - I will address the issues we've been having, and a few other things.
Downtime
Everybody hates downtime. Unfortunately, it happens, and it's been happening more often as of late. We've had 2 occurrences this month - neither of which I could have predicted. I wish I could have predicted the downtime last night, but unfortunately it's hard to predict. In the future, if something like this happens again I will make a post on our Twitter page and let everyone know in the Skype chat. The downtime was caused by a distributed denial of service attack and the errors following were our host's fault, as InnoDB was having problems. At no point was the database ever modified, so there is no need to worry. Obviously I am held accountable for this downtime and I apologize. I don't plan on further downtime, but then again - stuff like this can't always be planned for.
Loss of Members
Another issue that I need to address is the loss of a couple of members, as many have expressed concern. Banekitty, BreShiE, and Hardz were all respected on the site, and nobody was more surprised to hear that they were moving on than me. Sadly, it was their decision to move on, and I respect it. Due to actions they have taken, I am forced to exile them from the forum. If they would like to come back, they are more than welcome to do so - but they must act in a respectful manner. I would also like to remind everyone that they are only 3 out of the 300+ members currently registered.
New Changes
Now that I'm finished discussing the past events, I can let you all know about a few plans set in place for the site. One of the things that will change soon is the site's theme. A lot of people dislike the color blue (myself included), so why not red? Well, that's what color the site will be! In addition to a recoloring of the theme we are currently using - there will also be some minor visual improvements around the site. This is being done to make the site more aesthetically pleasing and bring in some new members, as some people have complained about the theme's lack of appeal. Have some other ideas of how we can make the theme better? Be sure to post, as I will definitely look at your suggestions. I look at almost all suggestions.
In addition to a new theme, I also have plans to hold several contests in the near future. These contests will focus on posting and referring other users, although there might be a few others. I will definitely make things interesting for the people that plan to compete. These contests will most likely be for cash, although I might give other types of prizes out. Expect a large amount of improvement and new features over the next few months. The new theme and contests are only the tip of the iceberg. Despite a few minor setbacks, I think we should be fine.
If you have any questions, concerns, or doubts - just post. I will do my best to address every post (and in most cases I will).
