Gettting a Cisco 2911 ISR #1
I'm getting one of these bad boys for my birthday: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/r...index.html This is the same model of router we use in my CCNA class. It will be used to help me study, but what should I do with it first? hook it up to my internet and see what its capable of doing?

Congratulations! The 2911 routers are always a sort of standard, but most people go with used ones that barely function at their official capacity.

See if you can do some stuff with it, do some peering and shit if you can.

Because I'm tired I thought this was about some vague brand of car.

Maybe @phyrrus9 will have a suggestion, I'm not really into that sort of thing.

Unfortunately I cant afford a new one at their retail price, and had to get a used one. My understanding is these things are tough, and even the used ones will be fine, as they devalue quickly due to their extended use lifetimes. Cisco wont give you any support for them of course.

Do some testing on it when you receive it and just make sure nothing seems amiss. As long as everything functions normally, no unexpected rattling, you should be fine. I used a 2911 when I first got started and it may still be in my room somewhere.

Thats the plan. I have a 2960 that I picked up for $20 and it works just fine. These things are built like tanks.

Here it all is, I'm working on getting a rack, but for the meantime I'm just playing around with it.
