It's pretty good guide man but people who are beginner to Linux wouldn't know about ssh and most of the other thing that can do through ssh.

I chose mint for this guide (a year and a half ago now, wow) because it's a decent starter distro that doesn't put up a fight over things like youtube and other media codecs.

This is not the place to talk about this but I am deeply touched by what is happening over there. I feel disgust and guilt with us passively witnessing it and our money and weapons supporting it. I don’t want to use my name or this project to push my own ideas about this but I spend a lot of time working and giving away, sharing and receiving to and from a lot of people.

I’m only going to ask for one thing here. If you do not agree I kindly ask you not to use Linux Mint and not to donate money to it.

I hope for these people to be able to live decently in the future and for me not to have anything to do with the misery they’re in at the moment.

I promise not to talk about this anymore. I don’t want any money or help coming from Israel or people who support the action of their current government.

Linux by its very definition is a community project. He's hiding his hatred and bigotry behind a "protest" using his OS.

Just thought I'd stop by and give my thanks. Trying to test some things and needed a Linux Distro. Then I remembered Roger is the Linux guru and probably has a thread. Anyway, not downloading Mint but this will still be helpful. Good stuff Rog!

I may eventually re-release this guide utilizing Debian instead of Mint. The underlying information in this guide is really independent of distribution for the most part, but there's some things that make me want to move away from mint. Nothing technical, mostly political in nature :p
