German authorities cancel Kurdish festivals #1
The world we live in is cruel, people can't celebrate their own heritage because they might get blown up by idiots...

Quote:Authorities in Cologne, Germany, have reportedly canceled a Kurdish cultural festival for security reasons. Local police said they were concerned that the event could spark hostilities between Turks and Kurds, TASS reported Wednesday. About 30,000 participants were expected to gather for the 24th international Kurdish cultural festival, planned to be held at a city stadium.

I have no idea what any of this means because I live in the States. Could you please elaborate the significance of what has/is happening here in this news article?

Essentially, I'm suggesting that you make this article relevant to the community you're sharing it with so we can decided if we want to contribute with our thoughts.

It would be more interesting indeed if @Altair and/or @Mr.Kurd shared their thoughts about this with us.

Its correct decision(for me). Their slogan of this year is "Freedom for öcalan" is strictly dangerous clause. öcalan is the leader of terrorist organization PKK in easter Turkey, who prisoner in Imralı island(Turkey). These protestors are planning to chant pro-terrorist slogans on Germany. And more than 1.5 million Turks lives in Germany, if these terrorist sympathizers will try to chant in favour of PKK it will be definitely clashes between Kurds and Turks in Germany.

I'm not against Kurds, I have many Kurds friends from here. Not all Kurds are same, only minority of kurds are supporting PKK terror organization and they're fighting with Turkish Army. There is no problem between Turks and Kurds in Turkey as you said on TVs.

Now lets we hear from @Mr.Kurd too, Idk what he think about all of that, he is from Iraq as I know.

And without a word of a lie, I didn't lookup anything about It.

When the TV Is on, I try to avoid negativity with anything news-related. This board Is my only gateway with all happenings around the globe. It's tragic when Innocent people lose their lives due to the animosity of the bombers responsible for the attack.

Thanks to @Mr.Kurd for his point of view, it was who I was hoping for a response from Smile

As for why Kurds can't have a country, I guess every nation has learned from Israel: it causes too many problems. You can't simply make room.
