General question about torrenting #1
Hello, So i was going to attempt to share some of my favorite games that are hard to find and after creating an account on a torrenting website It struck me should i be wearing a proxy or trying to play it safe? Is it illegal to upload games (obviously) but what about games from the early 90's? anywho does anyone upload torrents or have any advice. ??? Thanks for the read

It is always illegal to upload copyrighted stuff. Why torrent though? Why not directly send it?

I'm not sure it was more of a question but I always wonder about all the people that torrent. It seems like a good cause . Thanks for the response admin ur the best.I agree I would rather send files directly.

I believe in most jurisdictions copyright lasts from the date of last publishing + 50-70 years (length depends on the jurisdiction but 50 + 70 are the most common lengths.)

But the way torrenting works, its not just adding a file to a tracker that makes you liable. Whenever you download a file, by default you are also sharing it. which is copyright infringement. Most people dont worry about it though.

Thanks for the response. I am working on how to upload to them, I feel like software needs to be exchanged and I frequent alot of newer software. Just trying to find best way to distribute it

If you some how use Torrent to share that file make sure you are over a secure proxy or VPN because I think Network Providers track users of using torrents do download or upload file which might get messy. Else if you want to share that file you can use http://www.mediafire.com or dropbox.com but make sure you have changed the name of the file as their system might detect your copyrighted file and delete it automatically...
