This just happened to me today and It's annoying. Every single day it asks to merge a Google+ account with YouTube!

The only thing I hate is at the top of the video it says new comments or whatever and when I click the X instantly pops back up

You can turn off annotations in the settings in the bottom-right of the video window.

Yeah. I doesn't while playing videos anymore.
But whenever it pops in I'm always writing a comment or looking for something and it's the most annoying fucking thing.

I think Google has become my new pet peeve.
