I think Square Enix needs to stop milking the series, but VII was a huge part of my childhood so yeah, I'm pretty glad that it's being remade.

from what I've heard or read it I don't think that's the case
but hey I could be wrong

On the fence, personally, it's a definite change from just constantly re-releasing the original on different platforms, with cloud saves, then achievements. I love FF7 with a dire passion, but with the current climate of remakes, we're only getting more skeptical, and to re-make such a titan of a title, they gotta be careful, because they're answering a prayer ofc, but to an increasingly skeptical audience.
