Figured out who stole my friends stuff. Thoughts on what to do now? 11-07-2021, 03:59 PM

Story time everyone, gather 'round. If anything maybe y'all could tell me if I'm way off base with my logic here. I havent been able to talk to anyone IRL about it so I need get it off my chest.
TLDR; I'm conflicted with what to do with the info I have on the kids I suspect stole a bunch of shit from my friends building. Stuff the police cant use to prove they stole anything, but it's enough to prove to me they did.
Full story: Some time ago, a friend bought an old run-down school and has been working to turn it into a place local bands can have shows and maybe a skate park. About a month ago some kids broke into it and stole ALL his music equipment, guitars, amps, mics, vinyl records and his turntable. All in all about 5k worth of stuff they stole. They also vandalized various walls and wrote dumb shit (in a nicer 'girly' handwriting) on the chalkboards like "suck my dick" and "your fear makes me horney". (Yes, they misspelled horny) - But the most important thing is they stupidly left a Snapchat handle. I assume because they are young and dumb and thought it wouldn't expose any info about them. Well it did. It showed dudes dudes first name, and his snapchat handle was clearly a '1337' version of a somewhat unique nickname..
Fortunately for me, their stupidity led me to find a single post on FB by some 19 year old kid with that same first name telling someone else to add them on snap. What's more is that his profile pic shows him in a different abandoned building. He also happens to live nearby the school and is into the grunge lifestyle IE: Long, unkempt hair, piercings, etc. Not concrete evidence, but looking pretty good so far..
I then started digging more and found his 20 year old gf is very big into the stereotypical edgy emo-goth lifestyle. Wears hats that say shit like "fuck you you fucking fuck", big into the nirvana smiley face, lots of 'Hot Topic' accessories, etc. Think of the goth chick in South Park. Very similar. Even some of the vinyl they stole was 'The Cure'. She also linked to her TikTok page that shows waay too much personal info, so with that I was able to figure out she lives in an apartment on the opposite side of my friends school (Meaning she would have to drive past the school to get to her BF house) - Still, not concrete but I'm feeling more confident its them.
Being they are only 19 and 20, I couldnt find much private info on them. But I sure got a ton of info about their parents (email, phone, work, address, etc) that I'm gonna hold on to. I gave my friend the names I came up with and he ended up submitting a police report. But from what I can tell, all the police have done so far was to just call them and say they want to talk. IMO doing that just tipped them off and they might now just dispose of the stuff, but it cant be undone. And hearing the police do find them of interest also adds to my confidence its them. Theres lots more shit I dug up that adds to this, but this post is already way too long.
So now, I ask you all.. What would you suggest doing with all the info I dug up on them? The police cant really do much on superficial evidence, but I could. However if the police are on to something, I don't want to interfere and screw it up and then be the one they blame for ruining it. Also I don't want to threaten the kids with violence or harassment because they already strike me as the type of kids that got picked on in school. They are young and clearly made a stupid decision. So ultimately the best I can come up with is to threaten that I'll contact their parents if they don't return it. Kind of a lame threat, but the girl seems pretty close with her mom, and the guys dad seems like the 'merica type that wouldn't take it well. So really I'm kinda at a loss as to what else to do. Maybe just nothing?
Also, please note I'm not trying to put them down or single them out because I don't like their lifestyle/look. Everyone has their own stories and they definitely seem like the outcasts in school and probably got picked on a bit too, so they rebel against the norms. I'm absolutely for that and I was 100% that kid when I was their age. I broke into abandoned buildings, vandalized shit, Raged against the Machine, etc. But being much older now, I acknowledge that I made a lot of stupid decisions back then. Some I still regret to this day. So because I was like that myself, I feel somewhat confident in using the assumptions to help me ID who stole the stuff.
