I noticed on another thread that a lot of people seem to like anime of the darker genres: Psychological / Thriller / Horror.

What are some of you favourite shows?

Some shows I really enjoyed are:

Cyberpunk Edgerunners shot up to somewhere in my top 5 (no particular order) when it came out last year, such a fantastic piece of dystopian fiction that really earned the title of cyberpunk. As for some of my other favorites, Death Note is a classic for sure that I really enjoyed back in the day. Psycho Pass is another awesome blend of dystopia/psychological, and at times it can do a bit of horror. I actually only ever watched Psycho Pass 1 but just downloaded the entire rest of the series the other day so I've been meaning to watch that. Heard good things though, but definitely enjoyed the first season/series.

Cyberpunk was a surprise for me too! Have you noticed how many people are playing/doing covers of that super sad song at the end?

Let me know what you end up thinking of Psycho Pass! I've always been curious but never got round to trying it!

I thought Mirai Nikki was pretty creepy and mind-bending. It definitely has a psychological aspect, and Yandere (one of the characters in it) is probably one of the scariest and best I have seen.

I'd be lying if I said that song wasn't stuck in my head for a couple weeks after the show came out, definitely a catchy one.

Will let you know what I think of the later seasons of Psycho Pass, but I can definitely recommend first season on its own already. I watched it years ago standalone from the rest and enjoyed it as it has a satisfying ending, no cliffhanger really. Only recently started looking into the later seasons to continue with.

My favourite psychological horror film (sorry not show) is Requiem for a Dream (2000), it’s related to the addictiveness of drugs and the horrors it burdens on innocent lives making it quite relatable for some.

Don’t believe me, listen to Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell which is fitting for the genre.

Um, this is an anime thread, but thank you all the same for the recommendation! I'll still go check it out as I don't think I'm familiar with it.
